This aspect of core training is not about building abs. It’s about developing the ability to utilise the legs, hips and trunk to develop high amounts of force quickly.

Coaching Cues – “Slowly make yourself ‘tall’ and then aggressively reverse the movement to break the floor with the medicine ball.”

Equipment – Medicine ball that doesn’t bounce (if it bounces, it will hit you in the face).
